Rozelle Du Toit

Rozelle started her career by working at Red Cross Children’s hospital after which she spent a few months in the Northern Cape where he worked in a Neonatal ICU. During this time she hone her passion for early intervention and high risk assessments. She returned to the beautiful mother city to work at St Joseph’s Home for Chronically ill Children where she worked in paediatric rehabilitation for 5 years. She has experience in working with a variety of children with a variety of needs. Rozelle decided to move to the private sector and opened a private practice in Durbanville. Her playful style enables effective therapy without the kids noticing their hard work. Over the years she has developed her interest in paediatrics by attending a wide variety of courses:

  • Basic and Advanced baby NDT
  • Aquatic therapy for children
  • Gait analysis and orthotic management
  • Basic – Advanced Wheelchair Seating
  • Hammersmith Assessment
  • Prechtl/ GMA assessment

Rozelle loves cooking up a storm with her husband.  She enjoys reading, gardening, sweet treats and most of all – cuddles with her cats. She is proficient in 4 languages due to her love of learning (and talking).   

Liesel Els

Liesel has an enormous passion for her work and the children she works with. After she completed her Physiotherapy degree at the University of Pretoria, she moved to the lovely town of Somerset East, where she worked for 6 years. After which she moved to Port Elisabeth where she opened a private practice. She works with children of all ages with a large variety of conditions. She has an extra passion for the assessment and treatment of premature babies and worked in three private Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the Eastern Cape. Liesel is a Seating course trainer and presents basic wheelchair seating to therapists from all over the country. She has attended various courses over the years, sparking her focus in paediatrics:

  • Basic and Advanced Baby NDT
  • Basic-Advanced Wheelchair seating
  • Prechtl/ GMA assessment
  • Hammersmith Assessment

Liesel and her family moved to Somerset West, where she practices from her home and in Stellenbosch from various locations. When at home, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband. They enjoy going to the beach, going for walks and eating ice cream.

Sumeri van Niekerk

Sumeri has experience in different fields of physiotherapy, but working in pediatrics has always been her big passion. After completing her degree at the University of Stellenbosch she worked in a district hospital where her love for working with children grew. She worked in George for four years where she gained valuable experience. She is passionate about guiding families to ensure that every child reaches his/her full potential. She has attended various courses in the pediatric field:

  • Basic NDT
  • Prechtl/GMA assessment
  • Hammersmith Assessment
  • MAES Therapy

Sumeri recently moved to Cape Town with her husband. They enjoy being active and mountain biking together. Sumeri is fond of the outdoors and she is at her happiest when she is in nature running or hiking.
